Energy Auditing Tips

• Always check insulation levels. Poor insulation can result in significant energy loss. Check window and door seals to see if you can feel outside air leaking in.

• Pay attention to weak spots in your houses walls and exteriors. Holes and cracks will of course result in energy loss. Additionally, make sure all fixtures and skylights that lead directly to the outside air.

• Make sure your fireplace dampers are properly closed when not in use.

• Have heating and cooling appliances maintained regularly.

• Don't forget to cut your lights off!
